RADNOR LAKE
1160 Otter Creek Road ~ Nashville, TN 37220 What’s Going On: Great hiking trails, nature center & activities with beautiful views, photo ops, and wildlife sightings. Tips: Our two favorite trails are the Lake Trail, a fairly flat trail that follows closely around the edge of the lake, and the Gainer Ridge trail, a decently steeper trail that is definitely more of a challenge. Both trails run halfway aroun the lake itself, and then you can either hike them backwards, or continue on a paved road back to the parking area for a total distance of between 2-3 miles. Please note that running is not allowed on the trails. |

CENTENNIAL PARK & THE PARTHENON
2500 West End Avenue ~ Nashville, TN 37203 What’s Going On: Beautiful park space for running, picnic-ing, sightseeing or napping on a blanket after a long day of sightseeing. The park is most famous for boasting the world's only full-scale replica of the Greek Parthenon, originally constructed as part of the Tennessee Centennial and Exposition that was held in 1897. For a small ticket fee, you can also tour the inside which houses a museum and a statue of Athena. Tips: Particularly in the spring and summer, the park also hosts lots of special events such as a cultural fair, Shakespeare in the Park, concerts and other activities. Check the website to see what might be going on while you are in town! If you're wanting to tour the Parthenon, it is typically least crowded on Wednesdays. |
