RYMAN AUDITORIUM
2700 12th Avenue South ~ Nashville, TN 37204 What’s Going On: Called the "Mother Church" of Country music, this iconic music venue is a must experience. The Details: Pick a show, any show, and it's bound to be amazing in this setting. You can check out the event calendar on the website for upcoming shows. Tips: Our favorite seats are the balcony seats, we recommend avoiding the "obscured views" and first floor seats underneath the balcony when possible. Most bands do a custom "Hatch Show Print" for Ryman shows, that make the ultimate Nashville souvenir. These usually run $20-$25 and sometimes are cash-only. They sell out quick, so be sure to get in line at the artist's merchandise table as soon as you arrive to get one! |
THE GRAND OLE OPRY

The Details: Each show features several artists in a variety-show style. There is always a great mix of artists you'll recognize and ones you won't...but the level of artistry is always high and legendary. Tips: Parking can be crazy so we definitely recommend getting there early! |
LIVE JAZZ @ SKULLS RAINBOW ROOM

The Details: The musicians change from night to night but the jazz is always good. Heads up that Friday and Saturday nights are burlesque performances, not jazz, so if thats not your jam, make sure you know what night of the week it is. Tips: Reservations are highly recommended if you plan on dining, but bar-space is first-come-first serve if drinks are your jam. No cover, so head on over. |
Other Live Music Recommendations
If you want to go to the Honky Tonks downtown on Broadway and 2nd Avenue, we recommend Robert's Western World and Tootsie's Orchid Lounge as our two favorites. If downtown isn't your scene and you just want some good live music, we recommend The Listening Room Cafe and of course, the Bluebird Cafe. (note that the Bluebird is extremely difficult to get tickets to, you'll want to check their website for ticket info as soon as you book your trip). |
