THE FOX BAR & COCKTAIL CLUB
Neighborhood: East Nashville Why we love it: intimate atmosphere, there’s a cap on the number of guests so it’s never crowded, excellent bar staff & unique menu We Recommend: hot chicken hummus & ordering off the seasonal drink menu Tips: because of the cap on guests, it can be hard to get in on a weekend |
PUBLIC HOUSE (@URBAN COWBOY)
Neighborhood: East Nashville (Lockeland Springs) Why we love it: as our trendy, millennial friend put it, “it’s vibey” - just a solidly cool place to have a drink Tips: open seating - no reservations accepted |
BASTION
Neighborhood: Wedgewood Houston Why we love it: it embodies the Nashville spirit We Recommend: the Punch of the day & the nachos |
ATTABOY
Neighborhood: East Nashville (near Five Points) Why we love it: has a speakeasy feel, and you might think for a second you’re in New York Tips: know going in that there isn’t a menu...but that’s kind of the point. Chat with your waiter and share your tastes so they can help you choose. |
SINEMA
Neighborhood: 8th Avenue/Melrose Why we love it: its got a decidedly Great Gatsby sort of feel and there’s always a fun old movie on. (And if bathroom-mirror selfies are your thing, this is the swankiest bathroom in town) We Recommend: Try a classic drink like an old fashioned in the upstairs bar Tips: Located in the same shopping center as The Sutler, it’s just around the corner on 8th Avenue, so take a Lyft/Uber as parking can be super difficult and the valet only accepts cash |
THE SUTLER
Neighborhood: 8th Avenue/Melrose Why we love it: the downstairs is a great place to have a drink and there’s a fun “bluegrass brunch” on Sundays We Recommend: Southern Butter Pecan Skillet Cookie Tips: it’s just around the corner on 8th Avenue, so take a Lyft/Uber as parking can be super difficult and the valet only accepts cash |
L.A. JACKSON (THOMPSON HOTEL ROOFTOP)
Neighborhood: The Gulch Why we love it: the best view of Nashville Tips: you don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy - just walk in and take the elevator to the roof and enjoy |
OLD GLORY
Neighborhood: Edgehill Village Why we love it: Old Glory helped pave the way for the new generation of speakeasy style bars in Nashville & it’s owned by the same folks that own 308 in East Nashville We Recommend: Panther panther (coffee cocktail) Tips: the entrance can be a little tricky to find as it’s a fairly elusive door off an alleyway |
PINEWOOD SOCIAL
Neighborhood: Downtown (near the riverfront) Why we love it: a fun, casual place to meet a friend or even get some work done; the food is delish, they serve Crema coffee, and who doesn’t love a place with a bowling alley in the back? Oh...and parking is free. We Recommend: the Crema Cuban, Breakfast Tacos, Shaved Brussels Tips: Check out their breakfast as it’s super yummy and you can avoid the crowd if you go in the mornings. If you’re wanting to eat, consider making a reservation by calling 615-751-8111 |
HIDDEN BAR [at Hotel Noelle]
Neighborhood: Downtown Why we love it: who doesn't love a secret bar? we recommend holding court in the plush, velvet banquette style corner booth and feeling like you're in on the most delightful of secrets. We Recommend: the North Gulch or the Raspberry Bramble Tips: To get there, either take the main lobby elevator down to the lower level (LL) or simply enter through the side door straight into Makeready Libations & Liberation. Instead of entering into Makeready itself, wander into the small sitting area, and enter through the unobtrusive green door marked "storage." Pass through an anteroom of twinkle lights and you're in. Hours are limited to W,Tr,F,S from 5pm - 2 am! No food is served, drinks only. |
