One of the best parts about Nashville is that it has all the big-city perks with small-town convenience.  Everything you'll want to see is pretty much within a 15 minute radius of our house....and that's if you hit traffic.
Transportation Type: New to Nashville, LIME and BIRD are both ap-based, station-less motorized scooters. LYFT and UBER have also just rolled out their own fleet of scooters that you can access through your LYFT or UBER Ride-share accounts (See below for more info on Lyft.)
Tips & Tricks:​ Simply download the appropriate ap from your ap store, and follow the directions to unlock and pay once you locate a scooter! Want some FREE ride credit? LYFT/UBER (RIDESHARE)

TRANSPORTATION TYPE: Lyft & Uber are both smart-phone app-based on-demand services with straightforward pricing, pick-you-up-in-minutes convenience and we recommend them as one of the best ways to get around town.
TIPS & TRICKS:
  •  We recommend walking to the front of our house to meet your driver (or walk to the end of the alley and meet them at the end of either Paris Avenue or Dallas Avenue). They may have difficulty locating you for pick up in the alley. But it’s easy to have them drop you off there on the way home.
  • Both platforms often experience “surge pricing” where the fare can be higher than normal during busy hours or to and from large events. We recommend comparison shopping the two apps before booking your ride.
  • If you are catching a ride to an event downtown, we’d recommend you have the driver let you out a few blocks away just to save the chaos of all the other folks also getting dropped off.
  • On the way home, walk a few blocks, find a corner where no one else is standing, and request your car from there.
  • Check out the helpful chart below to get an idea of what a typical ride would cost from the Carriage House to some of the most popular destinations in Nashville.  Please keep in mind, this is only an estimate and is based on fares occurring during normal hours.  Fares may rise during heavy traffic, special events, heavy demand, seasonally, etc.  Please check your exact fare before booking.

Tips & Tricks:
  • There are lots of great rental car options at the brand new BNA rental car facility that you can use….we have all the major companies.
  • Rental cars are great if you’re going to be around a few days and want to visit fun area places like Downtown Franklin, The Hermitage, etc.
  • There is a free parking space for your use at The Carriage House, you might want to be mindful of parking charges downtown, etc.

Tips & Tricks:
The B-Cycle craze has hit Nashville with bicycles-when-you-want-em kiosks popping up all over the city. Be sure you read how they work on the website before you utilize them to avoid racking up fees. A word of caution though....Nashville has some serious hills so we’d recommend B-Cycle for the more athletic of our guests....or at the very least making sure it’s a nice breezy day before you set out.

NASHVILLE  "WEGO" BUS SYSTEM
Transportation Type: Bus System
Tips & Tricks:
  • WeGo buses run both on Belmont Blvd (#17 Bus) and on 12 Ave South (#7 "Hillsboro" Bus) (as well as 10th Ave & 8th Ave which are just a few blocks over.) There are a plethora of bus stops are just a few steps away, so if you do your research and time it right and the buses happen to be running on schedule, you’re in a great place to catch a bus.
  • The bus system in Nashville is improving every day but still isn't as well-oiled a machine as larger cities like New York or Chicago. It’s possibly our least-reliable form of transportation in Nashville. If you plan to utilize the bus system, we strongly recommend that you do your homework first. Check out the website, and utilize the route maps. And if all else fails, call a Lyft. It’s what the locals do.
  • Download the WeGo Transit app to pay for your ride, see where your bus is or route your trip!

Tips & Tricks:​ Because Nashville is a fairly small city, and we’re so centrally located, it’s actually pretty easy to walk around. Especially if you’re staying in 12 South or heading to Belmont, it’s the way to go.
